## A brief history

2019

### Origins and focus

Founded in September 2019, the group held its first event soon after. From the outset, its work has centred on clause creation and pro bono initiatives.

2020

### Early milestone

The first set of clauses was launched, followed closely by the publication of the glossary—marking key steps in building accessible, practical legal tools.

2021

### Expanding impact

2023

### **Deepening influence**

With a growing library of clauses in place, the focus shifted from creation to practical use. TCLP registered as a charity, launched a series of user guides, and released transposed clauses tailored for Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, and the USA.

2024

### Embedding action at scale

We deepened global impact by integrating climate-aligned clauses into mainstream contracts, tripling engagement to over 165,000 users. Strategic partnerships, new clauses in multiple languages, and adoption by the UK Government helped drive widespread use—transforming contracts into practical tools for climate action.
