Applying Net Zero to Contract Clauses
On Tuesday 10 May 2022 at 9.30-10.30am BST / 6.30-7.30pm AEST, The Chancery Lane Project is hosting a workshop on Applying Net Zero to Contract Clauses.
You’ve set a net zero target (or your client has). Now what? How do you draft for net zero in contracts and cascade those commitments throughout your value chain?
In this free, collaborative workshop, you will:
- Apply your learning from our Understanding Net Zero workshop to contract drafting.
- Analyse a contractual clause to ensure that targets and emissions reduction requirements align with the Paris Agreement and science based goals of limiting global temperature increase to 1.5℃.
- Build your own plan of action for using and implementing climate clauses in your business or practice, as part of your work towards net zero or more generally as you align your work with climate and environmental considerations.
We recommend you watch the Understanding Net Zero workshop recording and read the Net Zero Drafting Checklist before attending this session.
In this session, we will be using the following clause excerpts:
- Casper’s Clause (Sustainability Linked Loans) Excerpt
- Frank’s Clause (Green Investment Obligations) Excerpt
- Owen’s Clause (Net Zero Target Supply Chain Cascade) Excerpt
- Luna’s Clause (Net Zero Aligned Construction Modifications) Excerpt
If you are new to TCLP please come to one of our Introducing Climate Clauses sessions before attending this workshop. It is recommended that you are using TCLP clauses before attending this session.
