**London, UK. 14 April 2026:** [The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP)](https://chancerylaneproject.org/), a UK-based legal nonprofit driving climate action through contracts, has launched[ TCLP](https://labs.chancerylaneproject.org/)[ Labs](https://labs.chancerylaneproject.org/), a new digital platform. It hosts a suite of AI and digital tools designed to help lawyers, procurement teams, and sustainability professionals turn climate expertise into practical solutions for drafting and assessing climate-aligned contracts.

TCLP Labs offers a range of tools to support this work. These include a [Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) tracker](https://labs.chancerylaneproject.org/project/sbti-tracker/), which enables users to check whether a law firm is SBTi-validated and understand the targets it has committed to. The [climate-aligned contract skill for Claude ](https://labs.chancerylaneproject.org/project/climate-aligned-contracts-claude-skill/)allows users to access TCLP’s legal content to draft, analyse, and improve contracts for decarbonisation. The platform also features prototypes that analyse contracts for climate-aligned language and benchmark them against [Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) ](https://www.globalreporting.org/)standards. Together, these tools provide actionable insights to support more ambitious, climate-positive outcomes.

Funded by the [Patrick J. McGovern Foundation](https://www.mcgovern.org/) and developed in partnership with Unboxed, TCLP Labs responds to a growing challenge: as AI, legal research, and contract software increasingly mediate access to professional knowledge, climate considerations risk being overlooked. TCLP Labs ensures they remain central, embedding climate-aligned thinking into everyday legal workflows.

“Our goal is to make climate-positive outcomes the default in every contract, not the exception,” said Felix Cohen, Director of Digital at TCLP. “TCLP Labs combines our deep editorial expertise with AI and digital tools to give professionals actionable guidance that fits directly into the contracts they negotiate every day. It’s about turning knowledge into real-world impact, helping teams embed climate ambition while maintaining legal rigour and traceability.”

Vilas Dhar, President of The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, added, “To meet our climate crisis with urgency, we have to embed climate action into the systems that govern how business gets done, and few systems are more consequential than contracts. TCLP Labs puts AI-powered tools into the hands of legal professionals to make climate-aligned contracting standard practice at scale. Our partnership reflects our belief that AI can enable socially responsible decision making, opening doors for legal teams to make informed choices that strengthen organisational commitments to a more sustainable future.”

TCLP Labs furthers The Chancery Lane Project’s mission by bridging legal expertise and digital innovation to unlock real-world climate impact, enabling legal professionals to transform everyday contracts into powerful tools for a planet-positive future.
