Climate Clauses Working Group

Getting climate into your contracts is easy with a community of peers helping you take action.

When and how we meet

We meet for 1 hour, once a month. All sessions take place remotely, using Zoom.

What to expect

Each meeting focuses on taking action. We start with an engaging session of updates and feedback from members, who share their progress in implementing contract and process changes. We discuss the challenges and obstacles and how to navigate them in different sectors.

The second section is usually a workshop exercise on a topic of interest to the group. Exploring new ideas and best practices.

We end with time for questions and a little bit of homework to get everyone prepared for the next month.

All supported by the contract clauses, case studies, guides and other resources published by The Chancery Lane Project as needed.

Topics covered include:

  • Introducing the idea of climate contracting to suppliers.
  • Getting suppliers to accept decarbonisation clauses.
  • When and how to use incentives and enforcement.
  • Getting your lawyers involved.

Who this is for

  • You’re ready to use your contracts to help deliver your climate goals.
  • You’re looking to build your knowledge of climate-related contract provisions.
  • You’re prepared to join a network of professionals working toward the same purpose.

How to join

This is an online meeting open to professionals at any level who are ready to take action.
